The 2015 Carpe Diem Feteasca Regala is made from an indigenous Moldovan varietal Feteasca Regala (which means "Royal Maiden"). Allegedly, this grape was dedicated at a birthday celebration for Queen Elena of Romania and thus acquired its "royal" status.
It has a light yellow pale colour, with a bouquet that reminds of acacia and apple flowers. The taste is well balanced and very fresh with notes of apricots, yellow apples and tropical fruits, leaving a harmonious long and crispy aftertaste.
A great aperitif that may also be paired with various seafood products, lake fish, white meat, turkey, light salads and, of course, multiple cheeses.
Serve chilled, at about 8 degrees Celsius.
